dm helps families with small children in need with 75 pallets of diapers
Again this year, three trucks from the dm drugstore’s warehouse delivered the 75 pallets, totaling 6,500 packages of babylove diapers, which are delivered to 260 needy families with small children with the help of the Catholic Charity.
Fourteen years ago, the drug store started the Együtt a bákért program, the aim of which is for the 260 dm store to take on a symbolic role for a family with a small child in a difficult situation, and to ease the financial burden of the families with enough diapers for half a year. In the current economic situation, this is a significant saving for families, which this time they can spend on something else, on improving their quality of life.
The partner of the drug store in the selection of the families from the beginning is Katolikus Karitász, who are present as a national network in the everyday lives of the affected families and can deliver the packages to them.
The three trucks with 75 pallets and a total of 6,500 packages of babylove diapers on their flatbeds arrived at the humanitarian organization’s warehouse in Székesfehérvár on January 23, from where distribution to the regional centers began immediately. Local representatives of the organization deliver them to the families receiving support. Richárd Zagyva, deputy head of the national center, said that underprivileged does not only mean people living in extreme poverty. A tragedy or an unexpected event can happen at any time in our lives, which makes us need help. The loss of a family member or the birth of twins can suddenly increase financial expenses.
