Rethinking fashion with the support of Perwoll
This year, Sustainable Fashion Day was organized for the third time with the support of Perwoll. This time, the impressive event was hosted by the Hungarian National Museum.
What does sustainability mean in the fashion industry, and how can we contribute to sustainable fashion? These questions have been preoccupying fashion professionals, stylists, and fashion designers for years. The number of customers who prefer conscious, slow fashion instead of fast fashion brands is also growing. Perwoll is committed to this topic and has set itself the goal of providing insight into these issues for the general public.
The Sustainable Fashion Day consisted of three parts: fashion shows, podium discussions, and a pop-up exhibition added color to the already traditional event. Guests could see the works of Hungarian designers BORBALA Fashion, ANNA DAUBNER, ANNA AMELIE, NORA SARMAN and VIRAG KERENYI on the catwalk. Perwoll also had an extra show featuring exclusively vintage pieces, where the clothes on display came from the Jajcica Vintage, Royal Vintage and Vintage Shop Práter vintage stores. During the vintage show, not only models but also well-known content producers and actress Franciska Törőcsik also walked the catwalk.
The guests were not left without a program between the individual fashion shows. Exciting podium discussions took place, moderated by fashion expert Bence Csalár, where the invited experts expressed their thoughts and opinions in the context of sustainability and fashion. Among other things, they discussed how self-identity, self-knowledge, style and sustainability are connected, how colors shape our personal identity, and how storytelling through our clothing has come back into fashion.
In addition to the fashion shows and the inspiring conversation, visitors to the fashion event could also discover a special pop-up exhibition, where they could encounter fashion accessories from five domestic designers: Réka Vágó’s shoes, Thinwood’s glasses, MrCarterCo’s accessories, Mittersisters’ bags, and GOLDEN HOUR’s jewelry all represent the ideal of sustainable fashion, carrying the specific style characteristics of the individual designer line. Thanks to Book Kiadó, all those who are more interested in the world of fashion could also pick up Bence Csalár’s books. In addition, the fashion activist organization Fashion Revolution was also represented.
