The dioxin-contamination flooded Lower Saxony
Dioxins were not only found in chickens and eggs, but pigs were also infected with it. Due to the risk of dioxin-contamination, almost five thousand farms are being closed in Germany. The vast majority of farms are located in Lower Saxony – announced the German Ministry of Agriculture.
The measure affects a total of 4,709 farms, 4,468 of them are located in Lower Saxony. In November, 2500-3000 thousands of tons of dioxin-contaminated animal fat used as animal feed arrived to Lower Saxony. According to the estimation of the German government; a total of 150 thousand tons of fodder can be contaminated – reports szabadfold.hu.
