The European harvest started with the Csabagyöngye grape of the South Balaton
Significant quantities of the Hungaricum grape is only produced in this region of Hungary on the plantations of the Balaton Agrár Zrt. From the grapes only the Badacsony-based Varga Winery produces wines since 2001, an average of 200 thousand bottles a year.
Varga Bálint, Varga Winery’s owner and managing director at Monday’s press conference in Ordacsehi told that the specialty of the early ripening fragrant grapes that it is marketed even in early September. The first new wine of the Northern hemisphere is produced from these grapes – the winemaker emphasized. (MTI)
