Decathlon is modernizing its stores with a new store concept
Decathlon reopened its second largest domestic store in Dunakesz with a completely renewed store concept. The 4,000-square-meter store is the first in the country to use the brand’s latest commercial direction. All this is the continuation of the change of image of the sporting goods trading company announced in the spring. In 2024, the Soroksár store will follow Dunakeszi in the transition.
Decathlon’s 4,000-square-meter store in Dunakesz underwent a complete exterior and interior renovation, the aim of which is to raise the customer experience to a higher level. In the new layout, visitors can follow a circular shopping route, which makes it easier to navigate, and customers can find sports equipment in a faster and more accessible way. The interior elements used in the store (installations, window displays, showrooms) present the different sports from a more inspiring perspective, thereby offering customers a completely new shopping experience.
“Our goal is to become a multisport specialist from a traditional sports hypermarket. We strive to provide our customers with the best shopping experience: we highlight our sports and innovative nature in a modern and clean environment, through the most modern concept possible. This makes it easier to navigate intuitively in our wide selection”
– said Levente Fekete, the regional director of Decathlon, who is responsible for the modernization processes in Hungary.
Another focal point of the company’s new business concept is sustainability-related services, which are given a larger space in a prominent place in the renewed business. With the workshop and maintenance, rental, second chance, as well as the recently introduced buyback service, the brand wants to guide its customers in the direction of more conscious consumption.
