Decathlon Hungary recalled several protein bars
Decathlon Hungary has initiated a recall of four different Protein Bar products because the products contain an undeclared allergen, gluten – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) announced to MTI on Saturday morning.
The recall affects the Protein bar 70g banana bar with a best before date of January 10, 2026, the Protein dessert bar 50g Black Biscuit bar with a best before date of January 23, 2026, the Protein Bar 50g Triple Chocolate bar with a best before date of February 28, 2026, and the Protein Dessert Bar 50g Crunchy Caramel bar with a best before date of January 27, 2026.
The announcement stated that according to the notification, based on the information provided by the supplier (Biotech USA Kft.), the products contain gluten, and the allergen is not indicated on the product labeling. Consumption of the products poses a risk to sensitive consumers.
The operator of the Decathlon Hungary stores, in cooperation with the NKFH, immediately took the necessary measures within its own competence, ensuring that the affected items were withdrawn from circulation and recalled from consumers. The measures taken by the company and the further fate of the recalled products (destruction or removal) are being monitored by the authority.
The detailed identifiers of the affected items can be found on the authority’s website.
