Danone supports the needy with more than 3,000 products worth nearly half a million forints
On October 14, a donation convoy loaded with food passed through the historic downtown of Budapest on the occasion of World Food Day. Organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Hungarian Food Bank Association, a convoy of 20 trucks transported more than 60,000 kilos of cargo, which was offered by food producers and distributors.

Danone finds it important to help those in need
This year, for the sixteenth time, Danone also actively participated in the initiative. The company offered more than 3,000 products worth nearly half a million forints to those in need. The products offered included Alpro sugar-free oat and coconut drinks, as well as plant-based cream. Danone considers it important that, in addition to helping with food, it draws consumers’ attention to the fact that our food and sustainability are connected at many points. The offered foods are all products that not only support the health of their consumers, but also further help the mission for a greener planet.
“Danone’s primary concern is to ensure a better quality of life for the population through our products and to ensure that no one is left out, including the most needy groups. We believe that with our product donation provided as part of the donation convoy, we are once again supporting this mission. In addition, with our offer, we would like to draw the public’s attention to the fact that even as members of individual households, we can take a number of steps to lend a helping hand to our fellow human beings and support initiatives for sustainability”
– said Beáta Várkonyi, director of corporate relations at Danone.
