Dachser’s new route provides a direct transport connection between Hungary and Bulgaria
Logistics service provider Dachser has strengthened its Kecskemét branch and launched a new, direct transport route between the Hungarian city and the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, the Hungarian subsidiary informed MTI in a statement on Thursday.
Liegl & Dachser Szállítmányozási és Logisztikai Kft., registered in Pilisvörösvár, pointed out that Romania and Bulgaria’s Schengen accession has a significant impact on international transport, as goods can reach their destination faster and more smoothly, reducing transport time and costs.
In response to the expected intensification of trade relations and customer demands, Dachser Hungary has decided to integrate its Kecskemét site even more intensively into the transport circulation and launch a direct flight to Sofia, they emphasized.
In addition to the Pilisvörösvár-Padova route launched in January, this is the second new direct route this year that the company has introduced in response to customer needs, they noted.
Dachser’s Kecskemét site moved to a new, modern facility at the end of 2023, where it also offers warehouse logistics in addition to transport services.
This development has significantly increased the site’s capacity and efficiency, while also enabling their development, for example with the new, direct flight to Sofia starting on February 7, they quoted Tamás Malomhegyi, the company’s sales manager, as saying that the new, direct route creates the opportunity for goods to arrive at their destination faster and safer, as fewer transhipments are required.
