Dachser accelerates transport between the UK and the EU
DACHSER’s new customs service, Smart Border Connect, enables British exporters to deliver their goods to European Union markets with transit times similar to pre-Brexit. This intelligent logistics solution simplifies and speeds up customs clearance, significantly reducing export costs and making UK companies more competitive against their European competitors.
In 2023, the DACHSER European Logistics network delivered more than 64 million shipments within Europe, where trade takes place without customs clearance for EU member states. However, Brexit has created serious challenges for British trade, and in response DACHSER UK has developed the Smart Border Connect service.
This service is available in two versions, Connect40 and Connect42, which operate based on DDP Incoterms parity. This means that British exporters undertake customs clearance and the payment of VAT, so that the goods can reach EU destinations smoothly and quickly, as if they were just a domestic shipment. Smart Border Connect allows advance customs clearance, thus transit time
