The Czech government to raise VAT
The Czech state would reach some extra revenue by raising the VAT rate. Instead of the planned 17.5 percent 19 would be the uniform rate of VAT.
Next year, the discount VAT rate (on books, medicines, etc.) will increase to 14, from 10 percent, while the standard rate will remain 20 percent. The Prime Minister makes everything to reduce the state debt, because the worldwide economic situation has deteriorated dramatically – reports Világgazdaság Online.
