Harvest in Europe has begun with the Csabagyöngye grapes
The grape harvest in Europe has begun with the Csabagyöngye grape variety on Wednesday. This year's crop is fairly good. The price of Csabagyöngye rose to 110 HUF from last year’s 100 HUF – Varga Péter, the CEO and owner of the Varga Winery told MTI in Ordacsehi, when the harvest started.
The Csabagyöngye is an early maturing Hungarian bred grape variety, a real Hungarikum.
Significant quantities of Csabagyöngye are harvested only in the South-Balaton wine region. The Varga Winery produces an average of 200 thousand bottles a year from Csabagyöngye grapes. (MTI)
