Continental is taking further steps towards sustainability – also in Hungary
In line with Continental’s sustainability ambitions, the ContiTech business sector belonging to the company group has taken the following steps in order to transform its own production facilities into environmentally conscious factories. ContiTech will recently install new solar panel systems in Timișoara, Romania, and in the near future in other locations, including Szeged. In addition, the group has selected three pilot factories worldwide to assess how carbon neutrality can be achieved in its plants.
“Each of our production facilities faces specific challenges, but our goal is to achieve sustainable operation by 2040 at the latest”
– said Claus-Peter Spille, ContiTech’s vice president responsible for production. “With the pilot projects, we give our sites comprehensive guidelines on how to implement systematic environment-oriented operation.”
“Sustainability is both a huge opportunity and a decisive driving force for innovation. As a market leader in material-driven solutions for many industries, we are committed to addressing the issues affecting our planet”
– added Philip Nelles, member of Continental AG’s board of directors.
