Coca-Cola opens two new plants in China
Coca-Cola and its bottling partner, COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd., have opened two new bottling facilities in the less developed central and western parts of China.
One of the bottling plants has been built on the historic Silk Road in the western province, Xinjiang, which has over 20 million consumers. The other plant is in Nanchang, in the central Jiangxi Province which has around 44 million consumers. Muhtar Kent, chairman and chief executive officer of The Coca-Cola Company, said, "Our business in China grew 19 per cent in 2008 and China is now our third largest market." – reports foodinternational.net.
