The Parliament decided over cigarette and alcohol excise tax increase
The Parliament decided over cigarette and alcohol excise tax increase on Monday, in order to allocate extra funds to the health service.
The excise tax on cigarettes will be 12,500 HUF per thousand pieces and the 31 percent of the retail selling price, a minimum of 24,920 HUF. The excise tax on cigars, cigarillos will be 28.5 percent of the retail selling price.
Excise duty on alcohol products will increase on 1 January by 15 percent increases, the excise on beer and champagne by only 10 percent. (MTI)
