ChatGPT is the most popular AI platform in Hungary

In Hungary, nearly 85 percent of artificial intelligence (AI) users use ChatGPT, Gemini accounts for 32.4 percent, and AI-based translators account for 18 percent – Sophos told MTI on Sunday, based on regional research conducted in Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

According to a statement from the security software and hardware manufacturer, the use of artificial intelligence is similar in the countries of the region. The Hungarian questionnaire survey was commissioned by the independent research institute CTA in February 2026, with a sample of 800 people.

According to the survey, 35.7 percent of AI users in Hungary use artificial intelligence several times a week, 33.3 percent daily, and 31 percent occasionally. The most common purposes of use are research (57.2 percent), work (38.4 percent), learning (36.6 percent), and translation (34.8 percent).

According to Sophos research, AI is already part of everyday life in Central Europe, but users’ attitudes are still forming. In Hungary, 46.6 percent of respondents have a rather positive attitude towards artificial intelligence, while 40.8 percent see both advantages and risks in it.
