Most companies are not ready for cyber auditing
The preparedness of domestic companies for the full implementation of the NIS2 Directive paints a depressing picture. According to recent research by one of Hungary’s leading server market players, although the mandatory audit of the European Union’s cybersecurity directive is approaching quickly and the deadline of December 31, 2025 has long been known, a significant part of Hungarian companies are not ready to start.
According to a study by ServerElite based on the responses of IT professionals and system administrators from nearly 500 Hungarian companies, only 35% of the affected companies have started the NIS2 audit. 53% have not even started the process, and a further 12% could not say where their company is in the preparations.
The aim of the NIS2 Community-level directive is for the member states of the European Union to have a uniform, high-level capability in order to develop cybersecurity resilience in organizations operating in critical sectors and private companies. The European Union adopted and promulgated the directive in 2022.
