Carrefour opens DIA discount in France
Carrefour is trialling two discount stores in France under its DIA banner. The aim is to revitalise its discount activity within France based on its successful experience in Spain.
fThese stores, previously operating under the ED banner will offer customers a new concept and strong cohesion between the banner and DIA's own-brand products. The first two stores have opened in Villeneuve Saint George (near Paris) and Macon. This also coincides with the launch of a new line across all of its stores, Carrefour Discount. This is a line of 400 "essential" products, in food, drug, perfume and cleaning product categories, which are designed to meet customers’ expectations in terms of quality standards and low prices. Designed to be simple and modern, the line is labelled and packaged without frills and products are easy to spot on the shelves – reports foodinternanional.net.
