Burger King expanding in Russia

The first restaurant of the Burger King chain in Russia may open in 2009-2010. It was previously announced that the chain of coffee houses Shokoladnitsa is holding negotiations to cooperate with Burger King.

 According to Aleksandr Kolobov, the co-owner of Shokoladnitsa, his company develops the chain of catering outlets City Burger launched in 2006, which resembles Burger King and was opened counting on an agreement with the US chain in the future. However, Shokoladnitsa have not bought a franchise yet, and that issue was not discussed with Burger King for a long time. According to experts, the new player, which is the second major public catering chain in the world, is to face the intense competition: McDonald's and Rostik's KFC.
