The Budapest fireworks attracted a lot of tourists
This year, Hungary celebrated with the most spectacular light and fireworks display and drone show of all time, the event was watched by more people than ever before at the venues of the Szent István event series, and at the same time, the public media television broadcast also set a viewership record, the organizers told MTI.
In their announcement, they wrote: On Hungary’s birthday, a huge festival whirlwind filled Budapest again this year; visitors could celebrate St. Stephen’s Day with more than 100 programs at more than 20 event locations. The three-day event was once again crowned by the game of Fire and Lights. “The attraction lasting half an hour, which included pyrotechnic elements, light show, building painting and drone demonstration, provided an extremely uplifting and sometimes cathartic experience for the guests,” they wrote.
The complex visual show that brought the nation’s history to life was made possible by 34,000 pyrotechnic effects, which were shot into the air from 230 control points, and more than 1,100 intelligent lights, 61 high-performance laser projectors and another 34 laser devices were responsible for the high-quality light show and building painting. In the drone show that served as the final chord of the Game of Fire and Light, 896 unmanned aerial vehicles conjured symbols of our national history before the eyes of the spectators, the announcement reads.
The St. Stephen’s Day event series in 2023 attracted more people to the capital than ever before, which significantly contributes to the growth of tourism in the capital, as well as the turnover of the tens of thousands of businesses involved in its implementation, they said.
