Budapest Airport is prepared for the recovery of airport passenger traffic, they will do their best to return the volume of traffic in 2019 as soon as possible, but it mainly depends on the travel rules introduced by the countries, the availability and efficiency of vaccinations and the level of vaccination – the operator of the Ferenc Liszt International Airport told MTI on Tuesday.

In their announcement, they pointed out that in the first quarter of 2021, there was no increase in the number of passengers at Budapest Airport, 183,416 passengers turned up at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport from January to March this year, which is a decrease of 93.4 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year, when passenger traffic in January and February was still in line with expectations, but in March the impact of the coronavirus pandemic was already being felt.
