The National Council of Mountain Villages urges the expansion of wine exports
Due to a significant decline in domestic wine consumption, the Secretary General of the National Council of Mountain Villages (HNT) urged the expansion of wine exports at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Grape, Wine and pálinka.
Brazsil Dávid noted that the annual consumption of wine per capita fell from 33 liters to 24 liters in Hungary. He added that, like in other agricultural sectors, wineries also sell largely semi-finished products abroad, but should include higher added value for higher profitability. In order to expand foreign sales, he urges the Hungarian wine’s promotion with the help of the government. (MTI)
