Bonafarm Group has signed an agreement with Royal FrieslandCampina to acquire its Romanian company.
Bonafarm Group is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire Friesland Romania S.A., the Romanian subsidiary of Royal FrieslandCampina, a Dutch multinational dairy company with global interests. The acquisition is an important step in the implementation of Bonafarm Group’s regional growth strategy and opens up new opportunities for the group in the Central and Eastern European dairy market.
Friesland Romania S.A. is one of the best-known and most traditional players on the Romanian dairy market. The company’s brand is Napolact, which is a market leader in several segments in Romania and has been a favorite of Romanian consumers for decades. The company is headquartered in Bucharest and has two modern production plants in Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș, where a total of more than 400 people work.
“FrieslandCampina Romania has a rich history and a strong market position in the local market, and Napolact is one of the most loved brands in Romania. The company is led by an experienced management team and is supported by an organization with exceptional talent. That is why the decision to sell the company was not an easy one for us. This step allows us to better align our European presence and portfolio with our strategy to maximize the value of the milk produced by FrieslandCampina members, and thus to focus our resources more effectively. At the same time, the planned transaction offers new growth opportunities for the Romanian business and the Napolact brand under the leadership of a partner with a stronger regional presence,” said Dustin Woodward, President of FrieslandCampina Europe.
