The European Commission to examine food shop prices
It is observed in many European countries that the decrease in prices in the food market does not follow by a decline in consumer prices. While a large number of farmers income is falling the food chains remain on a high margin.
According to a Polish studys – which was described on a meeting of the Agriculture Ministers of the EU countries in Brussels – the decline in producer prices has resulted in deterioration of the farmers' income, however the consumer prices have not decreased, even increased in most cases. A raising a number of Member States agreed the suggestion of problem – including Hungary. The European Commission announced that a working group has been established to examine the product price conditions – reports Népszabadság Online.
