The Hungarian-owned B+N Group ranked 8th among the companies operating the world’s largest fleets of cleaning robots, according to the independent, international survey by FieldBots Radar 2025, the facility management services company told MTI.

The company operates 176 of its own ROBIN professional cleaning robots, thus surpassing many global players in the international survey, including German, French, Japanese and Chinese companies.

The announcement quoted Zakariás Boldizsár, the company’s CEO technology director, who said: the labor shortage in cleaning jobs is becoming more serious, while the age of workers is constantly increasing. Therefore, it was clear to them that if they wanted to maintain the quality of service in the long term, they would have to automate certain processes. That is why they decided to create a cleaning robot of their own development.

They pointed out that the development of ROBIN started in 2020. The robot was specifically designed for the efficient and safe cleaning of public buildings with high traffic and complex spaces, such as airports and hospitals. In addition, this development will allow the approximately 15,000 people working in cleaning at B+N to focus on the quality of their work, thus taking a burden off their shoulders.

They emphasized that in Europe, robotic developments primarily serve to optimize work processes, not to reduce staff numbers, as the goal is to support human work: by taking over monotonous, physically demanding tasks, robots relieve employees.

The Hungarian-owned B+N Group has been providing full-service facility management services for more than 30 years and is one of the largest employers in the country. It has almost 30,000 employees in 9 countries internationally.

According to publicly available company data, the B+N Group’s sales revenue in 2024 was 302.3 billion forints, compared to 181.1 billion forints a year earlier. The company closed with a profit of 19.5 billion forints in 2024 and 9.7 billion forints in 2023.
