This year, the BME welcomes young people who are about to choose a career with a number of programs
The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) will once again join the national career guidance event called Girls’ Day: on Thursday, the six faculties of the university welcome those interested in the fields of engineering, technology, natural sciences and IT.
According to the announcement of the organizers, the BME offers several interactive and practice-oriented programs on this day, where young people can learn about what the engineers and researchers who chose the given field for further education do.
The offer includes, among other things, a field exercise and a behind-the-scenes bridge demonstration at the Petőfi Bridge, but the participants can also find out what can be made from a “pinch” of concrete in the “witch’s kitchen” at the university. Light will also be shed on why the Titanic sank from a material science point of view, exactly how climate change affects our lives, and what makes the polymer composite a “miracle material” today.
