Rented IT speeds up the reaction time of companies
The crisis directed companies’ attention to rented IT services (SaaS) again. The IT resources and tools used in this way can not only be scaled immediately and flexibly to current needs, but are also significantly safer from an IT point of view – pointed out the head of the Hungarian BDO Solutions business branch. Even in the case of forced downsizing, they are a faster and simpler solution than using internal specialists and machinery.

In the current economic conditions, some qualities, abilities and practices that were previously less emphasized in terms of competitiveness are becoming more valuable for companies – pointed out Rita Nagy, head of the Hungarian BDO Solutions business branch. For example, it is natural for companies to invest and expand their workforce during a boom, while during a recession they downsize: they reorganize and, if there is nothing else, they fire employees. In uncertain, rapidly changing circumstances, it does not matter how quickly they are able to switch from one approach to another, and how flexibly the established processes and resources can follow the needs of the moment.
According to the DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index) report, our country is now in 22nd place in the EU ranking in terms of digitization, despite the fact that countless companies have taken steps in this direction. However, domestic enterprises develop primarily under pressure. This was the case with the introduction of online billing, and later increased remote work due to the epidemic. It is typical that every 10th company uses CRM, i.e. customer relationship management system, while only 21% of companies, despite some progress, use ERP software, compared to 38% in the EU, the expert pointed out.
