The number of guest nights has increased because of domestic tourism

Due to the strengthening of domestic tourism the number of hotel guest nights rose nationally by 5.6 percent in the first half of the year – the President of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants told M1 news channel on Thursday.

Niklai Ákos emphasized that Hungarian guests give 45 percent of the tourists in Hungary, while the remaining part (55 percent) are foreigners, which is considered to be a very healthy rate.
He added that most foreign tourists continue to come from Germany, the UK and Austria, but still a significant number of foreigners are coming from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Romania as well. (MTI)
