Domestic and imported pear prices have also increased
According to the forecast published by the Central Statistical Office in December for 2025, the pear harvest in Hungary decreased by 17.5 percent compared to the previous year. Its imports increased by 1 percent to 9.1 thousand tons in 2025 compared to 2024. The export of fresh pears decreased by 4 percent to 861.8 tons at the same time.

According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of pears harvested in 2025 increased by 19 percent to 872 forints/kilogram on the Budapest Wholesale Market between July and December compared to the same period of the previous year. In the first month of this year, domestic pears (Bosc kobak and Vilmos varieties) were on offer at an average producer price of 995 forints/kilogram (+17 percent). The wholesale price of imported pears (Bosc kobak, Santa Maria and Vilmos varieties from Italy) increased by 7 percent to 1,138 forints/kilogram at the same time.
