The southern Great Plain region has recently been hit by one or two epidemic waves of highly pathogenic avian influenza infection each year, causing significant damage to livestock farm operators. The effectiveness of epidemiological control can be increased by taking a census of the poultry population – the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office wrote in its statement.
In areas under epidemiological restrictions imposed due to the disease, an immediate census of poultry populations is required by law
Non-commercial – backyard – populations are not always included in the registers of food chain supervision bodies, but their data is also needed for effective epidemic management. In order to effectively count the stocks, the government office has prepared a stock declaration form to collect data that is necessary for a possible compensation procedure. The declaration document is available among the government office’s announcements. For this year, the declaration on poultry farming must be completed by April 30, in the following years the declaration period will be between February 1 and March 1 – the announcement says.
