The government office ordered a census of poultry in Csongrád-Csanád county
The government office has ordered a census of the entire poultry population in Csongrád-Csanád County, with the deadline for reporting being April 30, according to a statement sent to MTI on Friday.
The southern Great Plain region has recently been hit by one or two waves of highly pathogenic avian influenza infection each year, causing significant damage to livestock farm operators. The effectiveness of epidemiological control can be increased by enumerating the poultry population, the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office wrote in its statement.
In areas under epidemiological restrictions due to the disease, an immediate census of poultry populations is required by law.
Non-commercial – backyard – populations are not always included in the registers of food chain supervision bodies, but their data is also needed for effective epidemic management.
In order to effectively take stock of the stocks, the government office has prepared a stock reporting form to collect data that is necessary for any compensation procedure. The reporting document is available among the government office’s announcements.
