The Balaton Ice Cream Competition welcomes applicants for the 11th time
Lake Balaton is not only a tourist destination, but also an ice cream superpower, and this year the Balaton Ice Cream Competition is being held for the 11th time. You can register for the competition until May 6, while the final will be held on May 10 in Siófok.
Not only coastal ice cream parlors can enter the competition, but also owners of confectioneries operating in other settlements further away from Lake Balaton. According to Tamás Fekete, the vice-president of the Balaton Tourism Association, the competition is not only valuable from a professional point of view, but also has serious advertising value, which makes the ice cream shops participating in the competition a real tourist pilgrimage site.
One of the goals of the contest and the Open Balaton campaign promoting the Lake Balaton region is to publish news and events from the region not only in summer, but also in spring. The effect of the interest can be felt in the turnover of pastry shops and the number of guests in the spring.
