Orbis Group is bringig about serious changes
Poland’s largest hotel group Orbis has big plans in Romania by opening two new units in 2017: the second hotel under Mercure brand in the country, in Brasov and the first ibis Styles in Arad.
“Romania is a very promising market with great potential. If we think of the increasing GDP and the volume of the market that has improved, Romania is one of the key markets in the region and an important element of our development strategy. In Romania we are aiming to increase the network targeting a leading position in the coming years,” Gilles Clavie, President and CEO of Orbis Hotel Group said for profit.ro.
ibis Styles in Arad will join the Orbis Hotel Group starting second quarter of 2017 and will be connected to the AccorHotels Global Sales and Distribution System. The new hotel will be the first under this brand in Romania.
New ibis Styles Arad will be a built 3 star hotel, with 72 comfortable guest-rooms, a restaurant, a lobby bar, a meeting room and a multipurpose room for conferences and events.
Mercure Brasov Hotel & SPA is the second Mercure hotel to open in Romania and the first one to be launched outside Bucharest. The opening is scheduled for Q4 2017, following the completion of a new construction, with 120 superior rooms. The new hotel will feature a restaurant with terrace, two bars, 4 meeting rooms and a business center. For leisure and relaxation, the new Mercure will offer a wellness area (sauna, hammam etc), SPA, fitness center and a pool. The forthcoming opening is the result of a franchise agreement with Barbati Invest Real Estate SRL.
The mission of the Polish hotel group is to strengthen its position of the leader on the Eastern European market, a press release reads. By the end of 2017, the Orbis Group chain will have expanded by at least 13 hotels being currently already developed. As specified in the implemented Asset Management and Development strategy, the vast majority of them (11) will be operating on the basis of franchise or management agreements.
The Orbis Hotel Group is the largest network of hotels in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe offering 19 000 rooms in more than 100 hotels. Orbis is the sole licensor of Accor brands in 16 countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. These brands, recognized throughout the world, provide a quality of service to various standards, ranging from luxury 5-star to budget 1-star hotels.
