The unified deposit system can be built out after the 2014 elections
The Ministry of Rural Development (VM) would introduce the unified deposit system after the 2014 elections.
The system would generate an annual turnover of 90-100 billion HUF, with a 10 billion HUF investment – Illés Zoltán Minister of State at the Department of Environment. The unified 30 HUF deposit would be levied on both glass and PET bottles, plastic yogurt glasses and mineral water bottles as well.
Illés Zoltán believes that this step would produce significant environmental benefits, its maintenance would not burden the budget, nor the consumers, because the bottles could be redeemable. (hvg.hu, Szabó M. István)
