The fifth season of the Solutions for Tomorrow challenge has reached another milestone. The 8 finalist teams of the joint competition between Samsung and EdisonKids have been announced. They impressed the professional jury and will have the opportunity to further develop their ideas with the help of mentors. The students will provide answers to important questions affecting our society: they will deal with financial education, the dissemination of legal and AI practical knowledge, career choices, and reducing the challenges of people with disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. They will think about the inventive recycling of disposable devices or coffee grounds, but they will also plan an application serving mental health. In the final round, one by one, creative and sensitive solutions supporting well-being will compete, which can point to a better future.

The TOP 8 finalists are preparing for the decisive presentation at the end of May, together with 2 mentors per team: outstandingly talented, successful startuppers will help the young people work and develop – the entrepreneurs will be joined by Samsung employees. The mentors are made up of returning participants year after year, who are excited about working with the students and the recharge that the program will give them.

The mentors of the program are impressed by the creativity, motivation and dedication of the students year after year. They find it inspiring how the young people approach problems and come up with different solutions to them. This mutual inspiration and the enriching experience resulting from working together encourage them to return to the program as mentors year after year.

The three winning teams will be able to expand their own and their school’s digital device fleet with devices worth a total of 6 million forints from the Samsung web store. Beyond the challenge and prizes, students can develop their creativity, empathy and self-awareness, while acquiring future-proof skills and methodological practices, including stress management. Supporting mental health, community building, collaboration and responsibility for others are integral parts of the program, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year – in addition to online learning, participants can enrich themselves with personal connections and great experiences at various events.
