8 new Profi stores in Romania
Profi Rom Food, operator of the Profi and Albinuta store networks in Romania, plans to invest E8.0m in 2008 to open new Profi stores in the country.
The company will soon open its first
Profi store in Bucharest, in which it invested E500,000. Profi Rom
Food acquired the local nine-supermarket chain Albinuta in mid-2007
from Lithuanian Maxima LT in a deal worth 25.2m Romanian lei (E6.8m).
It plans to complete the rebranding of the Albinuta chain by the end
of 2008.
The retailer is owned by Belgian Delhaize, which also
has the Cora hypermarkets in Romania.
