Jägermeister Invests €6.7 Million in Sustainable Modernization of Production Site
German herbal liqueur maker Mast-Jägermeister has invested €6.7 million to upgrade its production facilities at its headquarters in Wolfenbüttel, focusing on expanding the company’s maceration process, where 56 natural ingredients such as herbs, blossoms, roots, and fruits are processed.

Instead of constructing a new building, the company chose the resource-efficient renovation of an existing structure — a decision it acknowledges was more complex and costly, but ultimately more sustainable. After eight months of construction, the newly upgraded maceration area is now operational.
The modernized facility spans 550 square meters and includes eight maceration tanks and eight collection tanks. According to the company, the new tanks feature optimized geometry and an automated cleaning system, ensuring greater production efficiency, reduced resource use, and consistent process stability.
“This is not just an investment in technology, but also in trust,” said Christopher Ratsch, member of the executive board. The decision to modernize the existing site reinforces Jägermeister’s commitment to its roots.
“Wolfenbüttel is our home – this is where our roots lie, and this is where we are shaping the future of the Jägermeister brand,” added Florian Rehm, chairman of the supervisory board.
