The number of pigs would be doubled from 666 billion HUF in seven years
According to the pork industry strategy of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) a total of 666 billion HUF additional development resources would be needed beside the current funding level to increase the number of pigs from the current 3 million to 6 million.
The additional three million pigs would increase the output of the pig sector by 180 billion HUF, so the gross production value of the Hungarian food industry’s output would increase by 225 – 250 billion HUF, or by 13.5 percent. Thus, the national economy’s gross output would increase by 0.9 percent, while the country's GDP would increase by 0.5 percent – the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) estimates. (agromonitor.hu)
