Tesco’s new grant program launched on October 14 under the name “Start for the Future”, which will provide HUF 57 million support twice a year to local projects focusing primarily on children and young adults under the age of 25. The department store chain is mainly looking for applications from institutions and organizations that want to improve the learning opportunities of children and young people living in their immediate environment, develop skills and abilities, nurture talents, organize programs and local community events for them, and improve the living conditions of those involved.

The new initiative replaces Tesco’s “You choose, we help” program, which since 2016 has provided more than half a billion forints in 15 rounds to nearly 2,200 projects in 346 Hungarian settlements for the development of community life. The distribution of subsidies will still be decided by the customers with their votes, and applications that have progressed to the voting stage will win HUF 500,000, HUF 300,000, and HUF 150,000 in each of the 60 districts nationwide, depending on their ranking.

Between October 14 and November 8, you can apply for the financial financing of local projects that primarily have a positive impact on children, adolescents and young people in Tesco’s new “Start for the Future” program. The aim of the community initiative is to provide funds for institutions and organizations throughout the country that mainly want to improve the living conditions of people under the age of 25 living in their immediate environment, so that the targeted children and young people can start their lives in the best possible conditions. This could be, for example, the construction of a playground, the support of educational or sports activities, or the beautification of public spaces used by young people for leisure activities.

“Start for the Future” replaces the department store chain’s successful “You choose, we help” tender program that has been running since 2016, which helped the lives of local communities with more than half a billion forints through the support of nearly 2,200 projects in 346 domestic settlements in 15 rounds.
