Serious problems in agriculture due to redmud-catastrophe
Devecser, the area affected by the redmud-catastrophe closed a sad harvest: the catastrophe resulted in less than half of the previous year's sunflower and corn – Tibor Kákony, director of Devecseri Agrokémia Ltd. pointed out.
At east 10 thousand hectars of land was affected by the tragic environmental disaster and the fact that roads had been closed for a relatively long time to investigate the events. However, no decline in demand was experienced , since the world market is struggling with a serious lack of products, so all corn and sunflower produced in the Devecser-area was sold.
