The fate of HUF 42 million depends on Tesco customers
This year, for the 12th time, it was possible to apply for support of local community-building activities within the framework of Tesco’s “You choose, we help” program. Out of the 173 successful applications, the votes cast by the customers of the supermarket chain until February 12 will decide who will receive what amount of support. The department store chain also awarded four special prizes, each of which represents HUF 275,000 extra funds for the applicants.
A total of 361 applications were received for Tesco’s 12th community building tender between October 10 and November 13, 2022. The 173 projects that will receive a total of HUF 42 million in national support were selected from among the application materials by independent experts of the Effekteam Association, taking into account professional aspects. The experts primarily evaluated the elaboration, innovativeness, creativity and sustainability.
“During the rounds so far, a total of more than 1,500 programs have been implemented with our support across the country. On this occasion, 60 more entries were submitted than last time, so as in the previous round, we are awarding four special prizes for outstanding initiatives. In the last 11 rounds, more than 25.6 million of our customers voted, and we are confident that many will cast their votes this time as well, as it depends on our customers who will receive the HUF 400, 200 or 100,000 subsidy,” said Nóra Hevesi, Tesco Hungary’s communications manager.
