The KSH reported 419 million euros export surplus
The value of exports, calculated in euros increased by 2.4 percent, while the value of imports increased by 3.8 percent in May, compared with a year earlier. The export surplus was 419 million euros, 72 million euros less than a year earlier – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday, on the basis of the first estimates.
May was the third month when the imports in an annual comparison, grew faster than exports thus reducing the trade surplus.
However, in the first five months of the year, the 4.2 percent growth rate of exports exceeded the 3.9 percent annual increase of imports, so the export surplus of 2.977 billion euros was 183 million euros more than in the last January-May period. (MTI)
