Continente to eliminate 400 tonnes of plastic with new water bottles
Portuguese retail chain Continente will change the composition of its private label water bottles as part of its plastic reduction strategy. This step will help in eliminating 400 tonnes of virgin plastic from its operations per year. Earlier the retailer replaced 50 tonnes of low recyclability plastic (e.g. PVC) with other materials that are easier to recycle.
