The 40th National Wine Competition
This year the National Wine Competition was organised for the 40th time, with the Kunság wine region as the host. The National Council of Wine Communities (HNT) organised the competition, which was opened by Minister of Agriculture Dr István Nagy. In comparison with 2013, the number of competition entries tripled in 2019. Koch Winery from the Hajós-Baja and Villány wine regions walked away with a grand gold medal, six gold medal and two silver medals.
Category winners: Best white wine: Maróti Pince / Olaszrizling 2016. Best rosé wine: Bock Pince / Rosé Cuvée 2018. Best red wine: Bodri Pincészet / Szekszárdi „Faluhely” QV. Best frizzante: Schieszl Borház / Puxrose 2018. Best sparkling wines: Sauska Pincészet Tokaj / Brut; Törley Pezsgőpincészet / François President Brut 2015. Best naturally sweet wine: Juliet Victor Winery / Tokaji édes Szamorodni 2017. //
