40 teams will compete in programming at Prograce in Pécs, the best teams can earn extra points for admission

The VIII. PROGRACE is a unique programming competition because it is open to teams of two, none of whom are under the age of 25 and have a secondary school or higher education degree. A total of forty teams will compete in the competition on December 16, 2025, with the participation of domestic teams and a team from Sepsiszentgyörgy.

The programming competition for high school and university students is jointly organized by the John von Neumann Computer Science Society, the PTE CyberLAB and the University of Pécs.

This year, participants in Prograce will also be able to demonstrate their skills in algorithmization, logical thinking and programming in practice, as the use of the internet is not allowed in the competition, and competitors must work on a computer provided by the organizers. At the same time, Prograce is a language-independent competition, you can program in any language, in addition to the Java, C/C++, C# and Python languages ​​pre-installed on the machines, the organizers will also install other environments upon request.

In addition, high school students who excel in programming may also want to enter the competition because PTE MIK is the 1st–5th in the 2026 admission process. 50 additional points are awarded to members of teams that have achieved the 1st place, and 10 additional points for each additional team participation.

The competitors will be greeted by Katalin Malmos, the CEO of the Neumann Society, who was appointed at the beginning of December, and in addition, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the president of the society, will be represented by Vice President Dr. László Gulyás, who will also give a speech at Prograce.
