Tesco to spend GBP 4m on fruit and vegetables for schools in the UK
Tesco is spending GBP 4m on a new programme to provide thousands of young people in 400 schools with fresh fruit and vegetables in the UK. The “Fruit & Veg for Schools” initiative, in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation, will serve 140,000 pupils a portion of fruit or vegetables a day. At the moment only 12% of children aged 11-18 years meet the five -a-day recommendation for fruit and vegetables.//
