Bread and wine for 399 forints, mulled wine for 450 forints: ALDI opens its own downtown Christmas market
ALDI Hungary is opening its own Christmas market in the city center of Budapest to make the festive atmosphere truly accessible to everyone. The discount chain is waiting for everyone in the parking lot of its store at Pannónia utca 59–63 in the 13th district between December 19 and 21, daily between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM, where visitors can experience the atmosphere of Christmas markets at store prices. The company is donating all proceeds from the market to charity.
ALDI works all year round to make everyday shopping affordable for Hungarian customers. The discount chain aims to make the Advent atmosphere accessible to everyone and bring the experience of Christmas markets closer to visitors at an affordable price. At the ALDI Christmas Market on Pannónia Street, visitors can get classic fair delicacies at very low prices, while also enjoying a social experience.
The offer includes a 399-forint bread roll, 450-forint 3-deciliter mulled wine, and 200-forint tea, while a hot-dog croissant with two sausages, stewed cabbage, and fried onions will be available for 800 forints. A fair menu can thus be put together for as little as 600 forints per person. A free carousel awaits children throughout the entire fair, which creates a real Christmas atmosphere for even the youngest.
The Christmas market is not only about cheap prices, but also about festive flavors. ALDI is organizing free tastings of its Christmas foods on site during the event. Visitors can taste, among other things, fruit-dark chocolate cake, various parlor candies, coconut kisses, mini and classic panettone, Nuremberg cake, marzipan bread, and a selection of almonds, while they can get acquainted with ALDI’s festive private label offering, and on December 19 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. they can meet the characters from ALDI’s TikTok channel, Eszter (Eszter Veress, 1st Lady-in-waiting of Miss World Hungary), Jürgen (Csaba Kenessey) and Jenő (Jenő Kiss, world bodybuilding champion).
“The Christmas market season is for everyone. With our own market opening on December 19, our goal is to make this community and family experience affordable and enjoyable for everyone. We will also donate the three-day sales to charity, as the Christmas spirit is complete when we bring joy to others. We will donate all proceeds to the Hungarian Food Bank, which will provide food donations to those in need,” said Bernhard Haider, national managing director of ALDI Hungary Food Bt.
Located at ALDI Advent Market: 1133 Budapest, Pannónia u. 59–63.
Opening hours: December 19–21, 2025, every day between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., admission is free
