This year, one of the world’s largest and most significant food industry trade fairs, ANUGA, will be held in Cologne from 4 to 8 October 2025, with significant Hungarian participation. At the prestigious event, 34 Hungarian food industry companies will be present at the community stand of the Agrármarketing Centrum (AMC), presenting the diversity and export-ready offer of the domestic food industry.

ANUGA has been extremely popular among Hungarian companies for many years, as the trade fair not only showcases the latest international trends and innovations, but also creates an excellent opportunity to build business relationships, reach new markets and increase international visibility. The biennial event is the world’s largest military parade of its kind, at which this year 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries will offer their products and services to approximately 140,000 professional visitors.

Hungarian exhibitors prepared to present themselves with diverse and high-quality products. The Agrármarketing Centrum operates three community stands at the exhibition – one each in the organic, general food and meat and beverage sections – where foreign buyers can choose from a total of 34 companies’ products. Completely gluten-free oat products, including granola, muesli and oat beer, are very popular. There is also great interest in convenience products such as souvlaki, but goose liver, special seed oils, various superfoods, honeys, syrups and high-quality Hungarian spice paprika also attract many interested parties. One of the hit products of last year’s SIAL in Paris, Hungarian-made fish chips, is also among the products, but international chains are also paying increased attention to healthy ready-to-eat meals.

One of the most important events in terms of the development of Hungarian food exports is ANUGA, where buyers from practically every country in the world are present. Organizing Hungarian participation in professional exhibitions continues to play a prominent role in the export development activities of the Agrármarketing Centrum, including the Hungarian Food Business Program, emphasized Gergely Giczi, the company’s deputy managing director, who participated in the exhibition.

The Hungarian Food Business Program (HFBP) also plays an active role in facilitating relationship building during ANUGA. During the fair, foreign buyers interested in Hungarian products are continuously registered in the online system called Hungarian Food Business Catalogue. The database currently contains more than 281 Hungarian manufacturers, 2,600 products and 627 foreign purchasing companies, thus providing an effective platform for export-oriented companies to exploit business opportunities.
