Food inflation around 30% in July
Data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reveal: consumer prices elevated by 13.7% in July 2022, in comparison with July 2021. In one month prices became 2.3% higher on average. Food prices rose 27%, in comparison with July 2021. Margarine cost 65.8% more, the price of bread increased by 57.9%, cheese became 52.6% more expensive and we had to pay 43.8% more for dairy products. Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices increased by 11.2%. Compared with June 2022, food prices were up 4.1%. //
