In trade with Russia, the EU lost 30 billion euros due to the sanctions
In trade with Russia, the European Union lost 30 billion euros due to the sanctions against Russia until 2017, according to a study published on Friday by the Austrian Economic Research Institute (WIFO).
The export of the EU Member States to Russia amounted to 120 billion euros in 2013, but in 2016 it was only 72 billion euros. The sanctions implemented against each other contributed significantly to the decline, but the collapse of oil prices and the depreciation of the Russian ruble have also had a negative impact on trade.
