27 thousand tons of sausages consumed over a year
The popularity of sausages increased during the Christmas-New Year's Eve period of last year. Retail sold around 5,700 tons during November-December, which is 17 percent more than in the comparable period of a year earlier. Nielsen market research company’s Retail Index registered revenues exceeding 5 billion HUF.
The prices have risen only slightly, from one year to another. The average retail price reached 1064 HUF last November, which is 3 percent higher than the eleventh month of the previous year. Sausages are one of the most popular meats. The annual retail sales of sausage exceeded 27 billion forints, or around 27 thousand tons in quantities – reports Világgazdaság Online.
